You know "Yall" it's very bad on the Coast. Sure more people have been sheltered but we can't seem to get back to normal because of all the things that continue to happen. Honestly, that's why I have not been blogging. I am taking care of constant problems. We have been hearing all this hype about global warming and our past two winters have been frigid down south. The rainfall has been perfuse and often. The ground can't handle the excess and flooding looms. My back porch is taking on water as it seeps under the baseboards. Has anyone thought about how all the water from Katrina washed our underlying soil out and shifted the way our property once was? My backyard is now flooded after each rain and it stays for days. The fence at the side of my house that the neighbor put up. with no regards, is contributing to flooding my front yard Earlier, I said he had moved but he is back.


We have had many deaths in our area since Katrina. The older people are dying at least ten years before they should. Accidents are taking an alarming percentage of people. the young and old. There are many murders, robberies and a general desperation among the citizens permeates the air. Late last evening there were sounds of sirens everywhere in Moss Point. I heard explosions but had to wait until this morning to find out what happened. It was a big fire in a warehouse that took six hours to contain. The explosions were gas lines. I shivered when I heard that they weren't sure how widespread the explosions could have been. My house is heated by gas.

Television has always been the most prevalent way to entertainment. Now it is so full of filth that it makes an "old timer" like me blush I try to watch the candidates as they vie to be a nominee for the presidency and find most of them without dignity. They don't have to dredge up scandals on one another as their own actions and beliefs are enough to make a "nay" decision on. Most of the candidates seeking to be nominated offer, to me anyway, no hope for a better America. How can they? Condoning taking a life in the womb says we will be giving the right to kill the old or the infirmed. Terry Schiavo as an example was something that I thought would never happen in America. There is no substance to what they say. Personally, I think for Obama it is to be the first black elected as President or Hilliary as the first female elected as President.

I just gave you a synopsis on what is going on in my area and a few of my thoughts and now it is time to get ready for the next round of RAIN.
