Navy Secretary Names Submarine After State of Mississippi: "WASHINGTON, D.C. – Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter announced today that a new Virginia class submarine will be named the USS Mississippi, following a public request by Rep. Gene Taylor that the secretary name a ship after the state."
